Renowned music composer and singer Vishal Dadlani has officially announced his departure from the popular reality show Indian Idol. He shared the news with his fans through a heartfelt Instagram video taken from the Indian Idol set, featuring fellow judges Shreya Ghoshal and rapper Badshah.
Vishal, who has been a consistent presence as a judge for the past six seasons, revealed the reason behind his decision to leave. He explained that the show’s demanding schedule requires him to stay in Mumbai for six months, which has become increasingly difficult for him to manage.
In the video caption, Vishal wrote:
“Goodbye, my friend… I will miss these six seasons more than I can express. I’ve received more love than I ever thought I deserved. A huge thank you to everyone associated with the show. I hope Indian Idol will remember me as fondly as I will remember it. I’m stepping away for one simple reason — I need time. Being tied to Mumbai for six months isn’t feasible anymore. It’s time to get back to making music and performing live concerts. Also, I’m done with wearing makeup!”
Fans were heartbroken by the news, flooding the comments with emotional reactions. Badshah commented, “Jaane nahi denge tujhe” (We won’t let you go), while show host Aditya Narayan added, “An era is coming to an end. Indian Idol will never be the same without you.”
Vishal Dadlani’s exit marks the end of a memorable chapter in Indian Idol’s journey, leaving fans nostalgic and hopeful for his musical comeback.
